Welcome to Erith Christmas Tree Festival:

This is the Erith Christmas Tree Festivals 12th year! Year on year it becomes more popular with hundreds coming to the Saturday Musical Concert and Sunday Carol Service by tree light and thousands coming through the doors over the weekend.

In the Church Hall there is also a Craft Fair and our Scout Hall also holds it’s Christmas Fair on the same day. Everything Christmas in one place!

We are not looking to “Put Christ back in Christmas”. We believe he is already there and in all things. There is always a Christian message in what we do, but it is one of joy, fun, love, peace and hospitality. We look forward to welcoming you to experience this for yourselves.

HISTORY:

It was started by some of the congregation of Christ Church and now there is a team of volunteers who bring the whole thing together. The first festival was in 2009 but it has now become part of Erith’s Christmas build up. The addition of the concert and Carol Service by tree light as well as the Craft Fair and next door Scouts Christmas Fair makes the Christ Church site the centre of all things Christmas. It was started as a community mission rather than an overtly Christian event which has helped it to feel welcoming to people of all faiths and none. We would like this to continue and hope to grow this special weekend so that it can serve all of Erith and beyond in the future.

MINISTRY:

This is a community event which is held in and around the beautiful Christ Church. There is always a member of the Christ Church team available to talk to you if you wish. Many of our trees are sponsored in memory of someone who has died and others are sponsored by charities and organisations. Some of these can evoke strong emotions which we are there to help you with, but always by your own choice.
